Fishead Studios

Privacy Policy

Last updated 21 October 2026

The short version: Kingshold is free to play. It shows ads, and it sells optional extras through Google Play and Apple’s App Store. Where the law asks for it, the game asks before you play whether you agree to personalised ads; you can say no and still play. The game has no accounts, and your progress stays on your device. When it is online, it checks the current time with our website (or Google’s) so its timers can’t be cheated; nothing about you is sent. This website sets no cookies of its own and counts visits without identifying you; its trailer plays from YouTube. If you email us, we use your message only to reply.

Who we are

Fishead Studios is a solo developer. This policy covers our game Kingshold and this website, fisheadstudios.com. You can reach us at support@fisheadstudios.com.

Kingshold

Information stored on your device

Kingshold saves your progress and settings, such as sound, vibration and display preferences, on your device so you can pick up where you left off. This information stays on your device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else, and we cannot see it. Uninstalling the game or clearing its data deletes it.

Checking the time

Some things in Kingshold run on real time, such as chests opening and energy refilling. So that they follow the real clock and not one that has been changed on the device, the game asks our website, fisheadstudios.com, for the current time when it starts, when you return to it and every few minutes while you play. If our website does not answer, it asks Google’s instead. Like any request on the internet, it reaches the server with your device’s IP address. It contains nothing about you or your game, and we do not keep it. Our website is hosted by Cloudflare; Google handles the requests it receives under its own policies.

You can play without an internet connection. While you are offline, chests cannot be won or opened, ads do not play, and energy waits to refill until you are online again, when the real time that has passed is counted.

Advertising

Kingshold is free to play and shows ads served by Google AdMob.

Where the law asks for it – in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, for example – the first time you open the game, before you play, it asks whether you agree to personalised ads. You can agree or decline, and you can play either way. Where the law gives you a choice about how your information is used for ads, the game’s settings have a Privacy choices button, so you can change your answer at any time. Elsewhere the game does not ask; you can turn off personalised ads in your device settings at any time (see below).

Either way, Google collects some information to show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, such as your IP address, your device type and operating system, and how you interact with ads. Google handles this information under its own policies; see how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

On iPhone and iPad, iOS also asks your permission before any app can use your device’s advertising identifier. On any phone, you can reset your advertising ID or turn off personalised ads in your device settings.

In-app purchases

Kingshold offers optional in-app purchases: gems, a starter chest, and items that last for good, such as No Adverts. You never have to buy anything to play. Some things you can spend gems on, such as chests, contain items picked at random.

Purchases are made through Google Play’s billing system or, on iPhone and iPad, Apple’s App Store. The store handles your payment and your payment details under its own policies, and we never see them. To give you what you bought, the store tells the game which item you bought and gives it a record of the purchase. The game keeps a short code from that record on your device, so an item is never given twice, and tells the store it has been delivered. Items that last for good are recorded by the store against your Google or Apple account, so they come back if you reinstall the game (on iPhone and iPad, tap RESTORE PURCHASES in the market).

The game talks to the store through Unity’s In-App Purchasing library. It sends Unity short-lived diagnostic and performance information about how purchasing is working. This does not include what you bought, your device’s identifiers or anything that identifies you. Unity handles it under its own privacy policy.

What the game does not do

Vibration

On phones that support it, Kingshold uses vibration for feedback during play. This needs no personal information.

Google Play and the App Store

You get Kingshold through Google Play or Apple’s App Store. Google and Apple handle your account, downloads and any payments under their own privacy policies, and we never receive your payment details. When you buy something, Google or Apple gives us a record of the order: the item, the date, the price and, for tax, your country (and, from Google, your postcode). They give developers summary statistics, such as install counts, and crash reports from people who have chosen to share diagnostics with developers in their device settings. These do not identify you to us.

If this changes

If a future version of Kingshold adds any other service that collects information, we will update this policy before that version is released. The update will name each service and explain what it collects and why.

This website

fisheadstudios.com sets no cookies of its own and has no advertising. To see how many people visit and which sites send them, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It counts visits without cookies or similar storage and does not track you across sites; it records things like the page you viewed, the site that linked you here, your country, and your type of device and browser. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which, like any web host, processes technical information such as your IP address and browser details to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. Cloudflare handles that information under its own privacy policy.

The Kingshold trailer on our home page is embedded from YouTube in its privacy-enhanced mode. When you scroll to it, your browser loads YouTube's player, which sends YouTube technical information such as your IP address and browser details. If you play the trailer, YouTube may also set cookies or similar storage. YouTube handles that information under Google's privacy policy.

Emailing us

If you email support@fisheadstudios.com, we receive your email address and anything you include in your message. Mail sent to that address is forwarded by Cloudflare and stored in our Google (Gmail) account. We use it only to reply and to help you. We do not share it or add you to a mailing list, and we delete it when it is no longer needed.

Children

Kingshold is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has given us personal information, for example by emailing us, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices and rights

Where the law gives you a choice about personalised ads, you can change your answer at any time with the Privacy choices button in the game’s settings. On any phone, you can reset your advertising ID or turn off personalised ads in your device settings. Your game data lives on your device, so it is always under your control. For anything you have sent us by email, you can ask us to show you, correct or delete it by writing to support@fisheadstudios.com. We will reply within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the data protection authority where you live.

Changes to this policy

When we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects what Kingshold collects, we will describe it here before the version that introduces it is released.
